Explaining The Sacrament Bell Curve.
why is it that "knowledge economy" professionals love the bio-security state?
This question came up in a /pol/ thread where a bait poster asked why it is that people in IT and generally high iq (see midwit) positions have fully grafted onto the vag-seen ideology and have followed all restrictions to the letter. As per usual, there were a few insightful replies among a sea of usual /pol/ack replies about the tiny hats and the like. (see, https://boards.4chan.org/pol/thread/355916546 but threads always go down).
First of all we must qualify what we mean by high intelligence. These people on average fall squarely in the midwit range. They possess acumen in highly technical fields but often possess little to no abstract and creative thought. There is a reason sub-cons and the Chinese are outpacing native silicon valley people in these fields. So of course they have a level of deference and even subservience that can be rationalized in the face of any authority preaching the values of high iq pursuits like “muh science” and “muh bio-tech”. Rationalizations of one’s subservient position without even a thought about it in another direction is something I will also get into. But for now, let's say working class people are more acclimated to having authority be demonstrated to them, often in a brutal and bold-faced manner.
This is another interesting observation that came up. Oftentimes these professions are chock-full with people who are natural conduits for over-socialization. They do not possess physical prowess in any regard, and therefore need a society in which extreme conformity without (Frank) hassle is the norm. So this is why the current biopolitical security state is ideal. It moralizes and internalizes an ethics based on bare life alone, one that is mostly participatory out of fear of extreme social ostracism and legal consequences in a lot of areas. So it combines their natural inclinations towards a completely deferential, post-violence, post-affect society with extreme fears of death (considering how many of them have been taken in by materialism and outright agnosticism/nihilistic apathy/fedora ideology).
Working class and lower class people often feel things through a graft to their professions being handed down to them largely by trial and error, authority is earned mostly. And life is filled with a precariousness that white collar and especially tech professionals will never know. The high IQ white collars often live in a bubble where the realities of existence at the bottom is shielded from them, including open corruption of authorities. They hate “conspiracy thinking” because it shatters their view of the world and how it works. A Weltanschauung they had from the time they were in private schools. They can never postulate that “the best and brightest” such as themselves could ever be corrupt, or fudge data that could potentially harm millions of people out of laziness, or political pressure, or downright greed and yes, malice. Or even be swayed by influences and ideologies.
They truly think they live in a post-ideology society, and cannot fathom how fly-over hicks and townies could “just make everything so political gosh-golly”. Canadian boomer liberals and upper middle class people around big cities especially are like this. Authority is something that comes about through a blind faith in reason, expertism and credentialization alone. Take the litany of rantionalist and “neo-rat” writers who have internalized this same pattern of thinking when it comes to the medical sacrament. Take Moldvin or Gargoylanania, or (and Allah forgive me for saying his name) the Lebanese squid ink pasta man Taleb. They all fell for the propaganda precisely for this very deeply emotional (ironically enough) internalization of the power of instrumental reason among THEIR classes of people. The chattering/tech/white collar classes.
Working class people are closer to a more ancient and natural order of things in terms of how authority and technical skill is bestowed. Oftentimes your boss experienced the same trials and tribulations you went through. Also in their personal lives, the threat of violence, having your kids taken away by the state, destitution and poverty is still real. Yet in spite of their harsh upbringings filled with addiction, child abuse, being a latchkey kid, many of them can achieve a level of high competence in what Scott called “Metis knowledge”. Trades and artisanal skills passed down to them, skills that are not easily quantifiable.
I cannot tell you how many construction workers I've seen who couldn't read a book past the grade 5 level, but could finish an entire stamp-colored driveway flawlessly, while doing advanced sight-measurements of various grades and runs of the surface through intuition alone. I also notice that “conspiracy thinking” and pop conspiracy theories are quite popular among the more civil and higher IQ working class people. Oftentimes they will see some history channel special or listen to Alex Jones, or before, Rush Limbaugh (RIP) and internalize it. Not because they are “dumb and impressionable”, as the nerds and soyjak journalists would have you believe, (and others, those who possess a bug-worm-like soul). Rather they take to these theories quickly because through various life-experiences, they have internalized the lesson that authorities can be corrupt and downright evil. This equally applies to hesitancy and skepticism around the sacrament vag-seen.
Another thing to keep in mind, and outside of the ivory tower this is not well known. But many many people with PhDs in academia are complete social, economic and emotional failures in life, Akin to the incels, NEETs and working class morlocks they ridicule and despise. Many of them hide substance addictions and can barely function because they either get enabled by the people around them (also on various forms of Somas themselves) or find Reddit “heckin awesomeballs, let people enjoy things” High minded work-arounds and justifications, instead of admitting to just being a more sophisticated drug addict. Adderall, Xanax, booze, artisanal weed and dab oils, etc. gone are the days when high powered professionals had a sort of intelligent chad energy with railing coke in the office. Now even construction workers do coke….a lot of academics and “knowledge economy” people have this pent-up autistic rage that seethes and festers just beneath the surface, but are too afraid of it slipping out. And of course chimping out goes against all of their social conditioning, and I do include in this chimping: believing things that are contrary to professional class narratives and enforced consensus thinking. In a lot of offices and grad lounges i’d imagine it is social suicide to not receive the sacrament, and to explain your reasoning for it. Therefore they use mainstream leftists politics (while donning a revolutionary larp) to vent their anger and frustration and inability to connect socially with people, against the per-approved enemies of society.
The unsacramented in many ways are just too perfect of a target for them. Because you can paint them as evil death-spreaders that “do not believe in science”. Or as our effeminate bugman neoliberal icon leader up here in the first post-national country said “many of them are racist, probably sexist and homophobic”. Because this is how ideological talismans work, and now we live in an age where we can be honest about it: If you believe in one thing, you are squarely in the “red or blue camp” and certain issues immediately confer a sort of ideological labeling heuristic system upon certain people who are predisposed to left or right wing thinking. Abortion used to be the go-to, trans kids are another, now the vag-seen seems to confer this talisman label upon people. If you are against or for it, then it is a pretty good barometer of where you stand politically. And every example of those “on the Right '' who accept passports, restrictions and even mandates around it (see the three stooges I mentioned above) are really just lying to themselves. Perhaps this is a critique of neoreaction as whole enabling the delusions of nerds who might as well be neoliberals in name only. But that is another article for another time.
Look at the orgiastic spasm of cruelty that pours out in torrents when one of their enemies gets hit with a bad case of the succulent Chinese dish. Now I'm generally skeptical of these stories, they seem to all come from the daily beast and goes something like: “SOUTHERN EVANGELICAL PASTOR WHO HATES TRANS WOMEN OF COLOUR AND WAS OPENLY SKEPTICAL OF THE VAG-SEEN AND LOCK DOWNS GOT THE COOF AND DIED!!!!!” seems to be what every headline boils down to, or some variation of it, completely free of medical history and context.
Let us look at a real example when Anna K of Red Scare got a terrible case of it after refusing the sacrament on grounds of her auto-immune disorder which also unfortunately could lead to negative outcomes with the succulent Chinese meal. You had a total mech-wave of gleeful hatred, fedposting and grave dancing from the chapo ironist left upon Anna. Even low-follower account jannies were getting huge numbers off of “darwin awards sis. Wow just wow” tweets. There are even bots that are responsible for spreading copy-paste stories you can find on accounts like I hypocrite who catalogue them. It always goes along the lines of “as an ICU nurse this un-sacramented person died in my arms, go out and get the sacrament, I'm begging you!”. By far the worse, most s**t-eating, special pleading example came from veteran Boomer palliative newsman Dan Rather, who’s intern tweeted “think of the damn children, this has gone too far”, meaning that the media is spinning a yarn that conservatives and republicans are g3n0c1ding children over the succulent Chinese dish (whose actual child mortality rate is marginal to the point of insignificant in all cases).
Why is this all important to answering the central question of this article? Well it is because it is the only way in which professional class people, soft boomer libs, soyjaks, bugmen, etc. whatever meme-label you call the oversocialized, can feel true vengeance in their veils again, and real spite and psychic violence. They can only experience such emotions towards a scapegoat and only if there are layers upon layers of virtuality behind their spite and ritual despising. Either through the internet, or making the authorities slowly put more screws on the un-sacramented. To the point where we reach Australian or German levels of restrictions and mandates for a succulent Chinese dish that seems to be spreading faster by the sacramented than anyone else. Australia is waging economic warfare upon them in the northern territories. The un-sacramented literally cannot go to work or leave their homes unless they are on the brink of being denied basic necessities of life like food and medical care. Revolutions were waged for less.
There was a great piece by the master of shredding succulent Chinese dish hysteria on Moldvin’s latest train wreck of an opinion piece. Eugyppius goes into quite a lovely vivisection of the various neo absolutist tech nerd fantasies of Curtis in a bid to combat his own case of advanced (tribal) neuroticism and hypochondria around the issue. Now i have to maintain kayfabe and all that in the E-Right, but i'm sensing that we are kind of at a point, as Eugy spells out, where Moldvin is sort of being treated as a relic and someone who is worth paying less attention to as time goes on. Not to cast shade on his most important work (although there are problems, immense problems with that too)....What is really important to highlight is that it serves as a perfect example of how even a “based” person, given the right socioeconomic and cultural background and pedigree, can hold quite frankly horrendous opinions on our current biopolitical society of control.
And why is this the case? Because as Eugy alludes to, it is an unwavering faith in human omnipotence through science, technocracy, instrumental reason, etc. that binds these upper classes of people together. They cannot accept anything less than this unwavering faith because they literally have no metaphysics to pull back on. Even Curtis twisting himself into a pretzel to try and explain how impersonal forces shape modern governance is quite telling (and I'm a Foucualdian). When the most based of high IQ intellectuals we have ends up coming closer in view to Ezra Klein and Matty Iglesias on the reasons why world governments have all fallen lockstep into a spiraling gambler's fallacy on which brutal and dehumanizing biopolitical measures should be followed to curb a lessening severe flu, then why does the political Right need enemies? But this is a side rant that is distracting from the main issue.
I hope that this rambling and long-winded post sheds some light on the moronic gotchya nonsense libs and bad faith actors throw out to us about the intellectual professionals adopting the sacrament more than anyone else. Apparently (and don't quote me on this because I saw a twitter Anon post it) there is evidence to suggest the bell curve meme is true. The super high iq and low-wit simpletons both have the relatively same rates of sacrament hesitancy.
So for now, as i always say, until next time, Godbless, and goodbye, im throwing up the NWO/bullet club/grey wolf too sweet hand sign…..Gio.
Explaining The Sacrament Bell Curve.
Holy shit this is in the top 100 all time rants, thanks for this.
I would have just written "There's two types of people: Free thinkers and slaves. Slaves must be punished." but it wouldn't have been nearly as entertaining.
I noticed this first hand working as a contractor. If we were finishing a bathroom in an upper-middle class home, where the couple worked from home, they were adamant about always wearing masks. Super scared of the coof. If we were renovating a bathroom for a blue-collar, lower middle class family they did not give a shit at all. I just thought it had to do with the fact that yuppies never had to face any kind of hardship or threat, while working class people were used to dealing with these kinds of stresses. Covid was the first time some of these freaks couldn’t just pay their way out of something.
